Wouldn't it be nice if the Government had a Swat Team to deal with very serious oil drilling accidents at ANY depth and in any place in the world...?? Shouldn't we have been developing this capability by charging the oil companies a big tax...?? And this Swat Team could have taken over in the first week after the BP Deep Water Horizon accident -- and the oil drilling Swat Team commander would use world class experts and they would make the final judgement call on containment strategy, whether it was wise to use ANY toxic dispersants, how to fight the oil before it gets ashore, etc...this Swat Team would be charged with safety as it's highest priority - and speed and efficiency would be absolutely essential...this team could tap into all Federal Agencies and the Military whenever necessary and they would do whatever it takes to contain and work with local states to help clean up an oil spill problem...All the bills would be sent to the responsible party (BP).
