I've been following ECRI since they found me writing about them in 2000. (Lakshman did a search after one of his first TV appearances and found I wrote about it.. .) We've become friends and sometimes we help each other. Lakshman will answer questions on my facebook group too if he has time. When they have a major market call, like "a recession is unavoidable" when the market was at 1400 and their prediction for positive economic growth near the very bottom of the recession, they have sent me articles to publish on my blog so there is a third party record of their calls.

I think you could get a good idea of what they are telling their pro clients vs the market by making a spreadsheet with the DOW, S&P and NASDAQ weekly closing numbers in the first 3 columns after the date followed by Lak's weekly statement.

They did a model awhile back for when they said recessions were coming and ending that showed you could use that to get in and out and beat buy and hold. I have not verified it but it seems right for this last cycle.

Overall, a they are a high quality group but they have their critics... mostly perma bears.
