Blogs are garbage and I generally have no interest in them.

While you may find particular expertise on this blog or that, they lack independence and therefore credibility and thus result in the masses being misled.

I'm no expert on oil, but will wait until the facts are out to draw conclusions about BP's actions.

I believe Pickens' take on it last night is likely to be spot-on, i.e., in the drilling business, shit happens -- this just haappens to be the ugliest of possible outcomes. There certainly isn't the slightest evidence of any criminal act or any other justification for the bashing Obama & the Ds have laid on BP. Not at this point. When the facts are in, we'll see.

The only real question in my mind at this point is why in hell was the Obama administration continuing to allow work on that platform if there were all these deficiencies?

I believe BP has responded to date in most honorable fashion. Whether they turn out to be another Exxon I don't know but at this point they are making every effort to take care of those who have legitimately been damaged.
