I'll give a report on the boys when I have more time, but you got a good memory. (g)
OK, Dealer, a couple of months late, but here's the report on the boys. Yep, they are both still single, but number 2 is about to get engaged I think. (g)
The biggest news since the last report is number 2 son graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering last December. He is working as a design engineer for a Fortune 100 company, an international oil services company, designing pumps and valves. Hopefully, his projects don't end up at the bottom of the gulf. (g)
Interestingly, I use to report here on the Porch when number 2 son and his homies, his buddies as I call them, would work calculus on a chalk board out in the shop when they were in high school. They couldn't wait to go off college to set the world on fire.
They all went off to the same University and with high aspirations, three were pre-med, and number 2 son was going into mechanical engineering. Out of that 4, he is the only one that graduated and stayed with his original plan. One dropped out, one switched to chemical engineering and should graduate in a year, and the other has changed his major so many times he's setting a record and will probably never graduate.
Anyway, as you can imagine, we're darn proud of him for staying on target and graduating.
An update on number 1 son that graduated a couple of years ago, he's still working for a Fortune 500 company, a large retailer. Recall he graduated with a degree in computer science. He's gotten a couple of promotions and works in networking keeping those computers working across the nation.
And fortunately, they both work locally so we get to see them often. The ole Dad likes that......... What can I say....I'm a softie. (g)
Ya know, the Porch has been around a long time. In fact, the Porch has seen both our boys go off to college and graduate. I recall that I wrote my feelings as each one drove away to college, down that long drive leaving the house. I still remember each one like it was yesterday.
I hope all is well your way, Dealer, and your husband is doing better.
