If he was milking the crisis, he would have suspended his campaign and gone back to DC.....oh wait, that was McCain. If Obama was milking it, he would have scheduled his Memorial Day speech in some military cemetary in LA.....preferably right on the coast.

No, what you're talking about is a lack of political acumen. He has been criticized, from the left and right alike, for his inattention. And it is justifiable.

As liberal commentator David Gergen pointed out on CNN, if this had been GWB he would have been run out of office for this inaction. But he media does what it does, and Obama HAS received a pass for his inaction.

Having shown up late at the party, he is now wanting to become the center of attention. So, he has claimed HE is in control when, in fact, BP is totally running the show (as they SHOULD -- it is THEIR mess).

The government is incompetent as always. And Obama has made a fool of himself by taking ownership of this mess. Of course, once BP gets control of the well, Obama will claim HE fixed it.

This is liberalism. There are two strategies: (a) Blame someone else for every problem, and (b) claim credit for solving it once other people have done so.
