All of this could have been avoided if our congress had been doing its job.

Only our three branchs of government have the power to make Wall street and corporations behave. And that has been the prolem.

Only congress can do many things like protect us from an invasion, protect our food and water and build the interstate highway system.

Only congress could force the south to integrate and protect people from racism and sexism.

And only congress can mount the type of Manhatten project to correct our energy problems like a gas tax and funding green projects, just as only congress could fund the stimlus package that kept us from falling into a depression.

Lots of things we can only do as a society with attendant laws and regulations.
