The message that we should get from this disaster is that as we continue to go to more difficult and dangerous places to drill, accidents are going to happen more frequently and with greater consequences due to our limitations in stopping the leaks....we should be getting the message that oil supplies are limited and have been dropping rapidly all over the world, and since 1972 in the US... We had better do a lot more to stretch out those supplies for more that a few decades... The drill baby drill mentality and the stoking of thoughts of unlimited supplies is frankly, stupid and very short sighted. Iraq has the 2nd largest reserves on the planet and we invaded them to assure our supplies from there no matter what political reasons we were given.... But yet we continue digging up our front lawn...
