I always thought that was a lame philosophy. And we have to think of the kids. The more responsible we are the less suffering the kids have to endure. This is exactly like segregation. The people refuse to do what is right and needed, so we need our government to force the people to do it. Just like the tribal elders often had to force the selfish people to share their food with the less fortunate.
