What we do know is that BP cut corners in the design and in the installation of the BOP.
We do NOT know this. We know it has been alleged.
Really? From what I understand, its been alleged real hard!
What you do not understand is that right now, this instant, hundreds of attorneys are positioning themselves for hundreds of lawsuits and billions of dollars worth of litigation.
Oh thanks for that. I lived in the most litigatious city in the country at one time and you're going to tell me what the attorneys are doing? Seriously.
When a "consultant" says, "the BOP is a lousy design", you cannot just assume it to be an accurate, independent statement; in fact, you must assume that someone, somewhere is paying that consultant to say what he's saying.
I am going by what oil men on the Oil Drum site are saying; not some paid professional. If you did some digging, you would know that BP does not have the best rep in the business. Its true that Hayward seemingly was trying to clean things up but either he hadn't got too far or more likely he's not that strong. After seeing some of his press conferences, I tend to lean towards the latter.
We also know that Cheney did a pass on a safeguard that is considered standard in Brazil and Norway.....a safeguard that might have prevented this disaster.
I don't know this. I do know that Obama's administration approved innumerable items related to this platform's operations that were outside the norm. See how this works?
Never heard that.....I am sure you have a link to back up your statement. Love to see it.
I suggest you start learning about what's going on down in the Gulf before you open your trap. In that way, you might not look so stupid.
"After stocking the Federal government’s Material Management Service with his cronies, this agency reversed an earlier 2000 decision requiring a mandatory accusatorial regulator, allowing BP and others not to install a $500,000 acoustic switch to automatically shut down oil gushers."

You dolt. You couldn't find the Gulf on a freaking map.
On the contrary, I am well educated......but do you know where it is? |
