Smirk had a habit of appointing large donors to commissions that regulate the very industries the donors had an interest in. I don't remember you or any other wingnut complaining about it.

While I think this does happen in every administration, that's not what is at issue here. What we're talking about is manipulation of an election by payment of money or other things of value.

The statute, 18 USC 600, says:

"Whoever promises any employment position to any person as consideration, favor, or reward for any political activity, or for the support of or opposition to any candidate, shall be fined or imprisoned."

It could not be clearer. If you want to argue GWB did something illegal under some other law, fine -- we can go there if you want to. But the statute violated by Obama is very specific -- Obama broke the law, Bush didn't.

Unless you have another example, your argument is totally killed. Shot down. Destroyed.
