The ship was inspected in accordance with international law at its homeport in Turkey. It navigated in international waters legitimately. The Israelis illegally boarded the ships in international waters knowing that their their actions were illegal. While knowing their actions were illegal and that such activity would provoke confrontation, the Israelis still insisted on breaking international law and invading the civilian ship. Under the circumstances, the activists whose rights were being violated by the intrusion of the Israelis had a right to repel the invasion just as if pirates were boarding the ship. The Israelis murdered activists on the high seas and committed an act of piracy. The activists did not commit any crimes except being passengers in waters where they had a right to be. the Israelis should be prosecuted for murder. End of story.
