No Ted, the facts say the exact opposite. That the effect of Cash for Clunkers was minimal and temporary. The facts you present show another issue, not cash for clunkers, but data on sales and revenue in May, and projections about the future. This is all after Cash for Clunkers ended, and is more about the fact that the depths of a recession don't last forever than it is something to do with Cash for Clunkers. CfC is a good example of the broken window fallacy. The idea that wealth is created by destroying the existing stock of wealth. Its one of the more commonly believed totally nonsensical economics related ideas.
