I was glad to see the 'cowboy' didn't make it.

me, too. me, too.

on the repub side for the guvship there will be a run-off, but pending a week to verify the results, Tim "we speak English" James will not be in it. Byrne, who is going to be in it, in his speech last night said "we are competing in an international market with our neighboring states, and I'm here to tell you that Alabama is open to and open for business to people of all languages". sweet dig and sweet perspective.

and in the State school board race that covers my area there was one guy who said all children have a right to a good education and one guy who said "we got a lot of Mexicans. if a child shows up at school and doesn't speak English, there is something wrong with them. they are probably illegals.", and he wanted to use e-verify on their parents. the latter dude went down hard.

all in all... I am pleased. lot of work to do, but at least some chafe has been cleared.
