ATHENS--The Greek government Wednesday announced long
delayed plans to privatize state-owned companies as part
of its attempt to fix the country's public finances and
chip away at the massive public debt.
In a news conference, Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou
said the government would move to privatize 49% of the
operations division of unprofitable state-owned railways
company OSE.
It will also privatize state holdings in various casinos, sell
a 39% stake in the Greek post office, and dispose of stakes in
a variety of state-owned services including the waterworks
companies of Greece's two major cities.
He said the government is also looking at other opportunities
to privatize state assets, either through stake sales or
through privatized management contracts, including the
country's ports, airports and vast state property holdings.
Mr. Papaconstantinou said the government is also restructuring
Greece's natural gas monopoly to prepare it for privatization.

The battered public finances could be boosted by a radical
plan to raise £100billion by privatising Britain's motorway
network.
Business Secretary Vince Cable has signalled that he is open
to the idea, which would dwarf the rail privatisations of the
1990s.
Mr Cable said he had 'no ideological opposition' to major
asset sales, which could also see Channel 4 and the Met
Office disposed of to raise cash.
Last year, Gordon Brown began the process of a fresh round
of privatisations, announcing asset sales of £16billion,
including the Tote, the Dartford Crossing and the student
loan book.
Detailed proposals for the sell-off were drawn up before the
election by NM Rothschild, the influential investment bank,
which was the architect of several previous privatisations,
and handed to all three main political parties.

This is an out of control international criminal financial

With President Obama seemingly disconnected and unconcerned
with the clean up process, or the economic impact upon the
businesses and people along the gulf...
And with Obama now seamlessly transitioning into using
the crisis to sell the international banker's Cap & Trade,
carbon tax scheme...
And with a simultaneous move by the administration to use
the FCC to shut down Talk Radio and alternative media on
the internet [see story here] it's now clear that America
and freedom are clearly under a full frontal attack.
Given the rapid awakening of the American people, and the
prospects for a literal "House" cleaning come the November
elections, America is now more than ever, in grave danger
of desperate people - doing desperate things.
Given what's unfolding in the Middle East, we are only
one false flag/crisis event away from them playing the
Ordo ab Chao card once again.
America doesn't need riots (they're prepared for the riots),
it needs a political revolution.
America has awakened.
There is now enough people who know what's going on,
but there's not enough doing something about it.
Knowing isn't enough, because knowledge without action
is the fast track to victimhood.
I know people feel overwhelmed.
I know trying to keep up with the daily news flow
is like trying to drink out of a fire hose. And
it's depressing and demoralizing to be pounded with
one crisis after another, and bad news on top of
bad news, day after day.
You can see it on SI, you can see it in the workplace,
and you can see it among your family, friends, and neighbors.
They want you to feel overwhelmed and helpless.
And they're doing everything they can to push you into
a sense of helplessness and inaction.
Have no doubt about it, they want you to quit, and they
want you to roll over.
But you can't, because this is for all the marbles.
And you're not going to be able to "trade your way" out
of this. And a house in the woods, off the grid and
self-sufficient, while not a bad idea if the worst-case
scenario unfolds, it is not going to stop what's coming.
It's not going to stop what the CBO said must be done
with income taxes - a doubling of present tax rates.
How many of you reading this can maintain your present
lifestyle with the confiscation of another 25-38% of
your income?
95% of America doesn't have that much disposable income,
they would need to dramatically downsize and change
their lifestyle.
45% of America, excluding their home, have net worth of
less than $10,000 in liquid assets. Cap and Trade alone,
will suck that dry in less than three years.
And that's just from federal income taxes going to levels
that the CBO says is necessary to maintain present levels
of government spending.
That doesn't include what's going to happen to your property
taxes, to your state & local taxes. And it doesn't include
the tripling of your utility bills, and the confiscatory
effects of Cap & Trade carbon taxes, or a nationwide sales
tax, or a VAT tax.
And that doesn't address 75% of public and private pension
funds being hopelessly unfunded. And it doesn't address the
government seizing and converting your private IRA, or 401K
to a government annuity.
The vast majority here will not be able to out trade a
high-frequency, front-run market, continually manipulated
by insiders.
And regarding gold...
You saw what Australia just did to it's miners - imposing
what is in essence, a 40% windfall profits tax.
And when Oil hit $140 in the USA, Congress was chomping at
the bit to do the same to Big Oil, and probably would have,
if not for the collapse in the price of oil.
If gold were to hit $2-$3-$4-$5,000 an ounce, are you
so naive to think that the likes of Henry Waxman and
Nancy Pelosi aren't going to introduce massive windfall
profits taxes on the redememption of gold and precious
metals?
What's the political constituency of gold bugs? Who owns
gold and PMs - Ron Paul & Tea Party supporters, or
Progressive-socialists?
Remember these four words:
Predatory confiscation of wealth.
What do you think Cap & Trade carbon taxes are really about?
They're only one false flag/crisis event away from implementing
global governance. But to maintain it, they will need to confiscate
and then control the economic power of both individual and
corporations, to make sure they can never accumulate the
economic power to take back political control.
We're a fat, lazy, soft society. They are not worried
about America rising up and taking to the streets. And
fwiw, it ain't ever going to happen. 1/2 of 1% of America
may defend their homes if the jackboots ever come door to
door to confiscate their guns, but they're not going to do
a damn thing if income taxes are raised 4, or 5 times
over the next decade until they're where the CBO said they
must be, from 50-88% for the middle/upper brackets.
If you don't rise up and fight today - you're guaranteeing
a 50%-88% confiscatory federal income tax rate tomorrow.
And for those who think as long as we have our guns, we'll
be okay - you're sadly mistaken.
They'll come after guns state by state, and incrementally with
a reimplementation of the assault rifle ban, then they'll
ban all semi-auto's, then they'll move to mandatory
registration and permitting... and then they'll simply
begin to refuse to renew, or issue permits to own guns.
They know how to boil the frog slowly, gradually, and
incrementally as they steal your freedom.
They key is to know where this is all going 2,5,10 years
down the road. You're not just fighting the Health Care
bill, or Cap & Trade, you're fighting the entire globalist
agenda that will unfold over the coming decade. An agenda
they've publicly proclaimed will be...
"A profound reorientation of all human society, unlike
anything the world has ever experienced, a major shift
in the priorities of both governments and individuals,
and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial
resources."
That's UN Agenda 21.
I'll translate it for you: "An unprecedented reorientation
of human and financial resources," means they're going to
outsource your jobs via global wage arbitrage, make you
pay for it via carbon taxes, and then confiscate your savings,
and the vast majority of your income via higher taxes, while
rationing your health care.
They're going to "reorient" the money from your pocket - to theirs.
Bottomline: The next 5-6 months leading up to the November
elections may be among the most important in American history.
Knowledge isn't enough.
We need action.
Sadly, I'd say that 75% of those who "know," have not
made a single phone call, or sent a single letter to
a Congressman, or Senator. They've not attended a single
Tea Party, or Town Hall meeting, and they don't "talk
politics" to their co-workers, neighbors, family, or friends.
And there is no better formula for failure - than that.
Those who "know" need to redouble their efforts to wake
up others, and the key to stopping the globalists final
putsch to close the deal on global governance,
is action -- MASSIVE ACTION.
Put the MLB season on hold, put the bass fishing on hold,
and use the kids soccer games, and the family reunions
to talk politics, to awaken people, and to encourage them
to take action.
And if you don't, here's what you can look forward to...
Over the next decade (by design), the entire working middle
class of the West will be eliminated through a coming wave
of predatory and confiscatory taxation, of which global
carbon taxes will be the primary component.
The global ruling elite will continue to benefit greatly
from public-private insider deals and the privitization
of sovereign resources, as nation states will be forced
(by design), to sell off infrastructure and taxpayer
owned natural resources to pay debt obligations to the
international banks.
The size of government will continue to grow, and the most
talented among the working class will gravitate towards
a new "managerial class," which will man layer upon layer,
of new predatory government bureaucracies.
The new income & carbon tax systems will prohibit any
individual, or corporation not partnered with the government
from accumulating enough capital to ever threaten the now
permanently entrenched ruling elite.
The west will be pushed into a post-democratic, collectivist
system, where the media will be completely controlled by the
government, and TIA (total information awarness), Police-
Surveillance State will track, monitor, and data base
everything you do 24 x 7.
Your children will begin to be indoctrinated from birth. They
will be taught that your greed and your selfish capitalism
led to the financial collapse and the global environmental
threat to Mother Eart-Gaia, of which they will be indoctrinated
to accept as the new global-collectivist religion.
The post-Lisbon EU was the rebirth of the Super Soviet,
and that's what Obama's agenda is, to bring in the
socialist, social-control policies like Health Care,
and Cap & Trade.
Ultimately they'll use another False Flag event, or trigger
another economic crisis to bring in the next level of the
Police Surveillance State and another round of the loss of
personal freedom.
We're all about to learn that Freedom isn't free,
and if you want to hang on to it, you're going to
have to fight for it.
People are literally going to have to become a full-time
political activists and put everything else on hold for the
next 5-6 months... because that's exactly what those who want
to take away everything you have, are doing.
These people are willing to fight and take action to destroy this
