The U.S. has a vital interest in maintaining the regional stability that is indispensable for the preservation of peace and for any prospect of a two-state solution.

What exactly is the US vital interest? If Israel didn't exist, would the US be that much worse off?

Tibet doesn't exist, and the US seems to be fine.

Iraq could be split into 3 different countries, and the US would be fine.

The UAE and Kuwait could be absorbed into Saudi Arabi (or into Iraq and Oman, respectively) and the US would be fine.

Cuba went communist 50 years ago, we we were fine. Why in the world does Israel's global status have significance for the US interest's worldwide?
