--- And what is Israel's plan to win the war? If Israel were at war with Gaza, it would invade and kill and replace the leadership. That's certainly within their military power (the invade and kill part, at least).
It is not that easy. Israel has a delicate peace treaty with both Egypt and Jordan. Both of those countries threaten Israel with a resumption of hostilities if Israel kills the Hamas leaders. Israel cannot afford to lose these slim, weak Muslim Alliances.
It's not that Egypt or Jordan are Hamas supporters. They just hate Jews more than they do their own Islamic enemies.
--- "We're at war with you", but we're not going to do much about it is not a war in any normal sense of the word.
Every time Israel makes any move at all, especially one where it looks like Israel is winning, most of the world comes down against Israel. Israel walks a delicate balance between appeasing the antiSemitic world and co-existing in the backward, violent, corrupt, tyrannical Islamic Middle East.
--- And declaring their neighbors to be an enemy entity isn't that surprising or even meaningful for Israel. Their neighbors in general would prefer that Israel didn't exist.
Declaring Gaza/Hamas as a enemy entity allows Israel some manner of self defense, even though Israel's hands are tied by the rest of the world.
--- Surely Israel doesn't have the right to board a ship anywhere in the world if it declares an intention to visit Gaza's beaches.
If Israel wants to keep it's rabid, envious, hateful enemies from murdering more Jewish families, it has no choice. When one defends one's family, one doesn't question the absolute legal definitions first, one first defends one's family and one's own life. |
