Bottom line, pure and simple, had there been an abundance of oil skimmers around that oil leak from day one we would only have a fraction of the oil problems we are now seeing.

That should have been figured out very early. But there was no way BP was going to spend that kind of money up front. Better to try and hide the evidence and litigate.
