And its also without reasonable dispute that the government is subsidized more from the oil industry than the industry is subsidized by the government.

Its a net giver to the government. Most "alternative" sources of energy (depending on exactly how you define alternative) are net takers from the government (at least if you count targeted tax breaks as subsidies and taking from the government, and if you don't, than the oil industry isn't subsidized).
