Did you ever notice how militarism and capitalism seem to go hand in hand?

Communist countries spent a far larger percentage of their economies on their militaries when such countries were reasonably common than capitalist countries.

Now that communist countries are rare they still spend much more by this measure, with the most and most clearly communist country, North Korea, spending the largest percentage of their GDP on their military, 33.9% ( wisegeek.com ), compared to 4 to 5% for the US, and under 3% for South Korea.
