"You got to define what 'win' is. Don't get yourself stucked
in the thinking of the old school."

That's the thing. Since Hiroshima and Nagasaki, total war is off the table. Military power can punish, but can it win?

Korea - pointless unresolved draw

Vietnam - loss

Iraq I and II - a pyrrric "win" that cost us a trillion and still counting. The oil is being developed by China. Americans have a bad odor there, and all the rebuilding contracts are going to non-coalition members. So, what did we "win" then?

Afghanistan - an open running sore of a war, ongoing now for eight years, for a country that produces all the world's opium..

Looking at it, it's like we're the Walmart of war. Hey, little annoying wrong ideology country - need a tango partner for a limited war? Attack some neighbor - we'll come a runnin!
