I also agree that until the next generation of software products hits the street the "pressure" to move into $2,000+ machines is lacking. Right now the inexspensive machines are great for those that have deferred purchasing a computer (like curious "seniors") and for 2nd machines.

According to one of the writers for the Chicago Tribune we can look forward to some groundbreaking software products in '98, as programs become more complex and operator friendly the need for better machines will become evident.

BTW I have a Micron pc, have had it for 2 1/2 years and I am generally satisfied.

I keep looking at the stock, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I still see Micron as a third tier player, behind Gateway, I think that although they can probalbly expand their market share some, the real value of the company is as a takeover by an established 1st or 2nd tier company that wants direct marketing presence.
