I just got around to looking at this post. I have found that the Fund Manager groups are acceptable for me in the variable annuities. I particularly like Fund Mgr. 20 in this volatile period and had 6 figures in it for a while before I trimmed it recently. Morning Star gives it a high rating. It has performed decently for the last 6 months IMO.

Also, the two Pimco funds are doing well even under the duress of the times: Total Return and Real Return. In fact they both went up last week.
