"Right on, Glenn!"

The value of an undergrad degree is steadily declining. My wife has thought about quiting her studies a few times because she wasn't challenged. I see the work that is expected of her and think I got a pretty damned good education in the 90s. Her classmates are idiots. A friend of mine is teaching now at the University of Utah, and he says it's not an isolated phenomenon. He's spoken to an "old-timer" there who says the intelligence of the student body went off a cliff within the last five years.

Colleges have been lowering the bar and letting in kids that never should have gone to college, then lower the standard for the work required so whole classes don't fail. The supply of BAs is flooding the market, further eroding its worth.

It is a bubble.
