I know Christian Zionism has been a hot topic here for a while. I seriously want to encourage those who hold to these beliefs to open-mindedly consider an alternative view.

While the thread's host may seem caustic -- he's right about this: Christian Zionism is a relatively young movement -- but moreover, it is inconsistent with the Bible. Hank Hannegraf (aka Bible Answer Man) has dealt beautifully with this concept on his show and in his book:

If you hold the view that the nation of Israel is somehow spiritually separate and important from an eschatalogical point of view -- what do you have to lose by looking at another POV that is centered on Jesus??
