"Scince just needs to throw a lot of money at the problem" I wish. Society needs to throw more panel manufactures and turbine manufactures and silicon makers and cadmium miners and and and. This stuff has been studied to death. We don't need new tech. It's nice, but everything is there now. You can give every home in America 1M bucks today and say you need to be total green by the end of the year or get shot, and, you know what? About 329 M of us will get shot, cuz this stuff doesn't come from thin air. Is there enuf Li in the world? Pros don't know. Is there enuf energy to produce it in sufficient quantities?Enuf Cd? Enuf anything? If you say yes, you know a hell of a lot more than the people who study it. This ain't an acid trip where you can create yer own reality. Show me one study that shows we can replace our entire motor pool with non-oil powered vehicles in less than 25 years. I can show you lots that say we will be pumping 10.5 MBPD less in 2015 than we are today; DOD, fer instance.
