My fellow liberals frequently don't wait for the gov't to help us. We raise money and plant trees on our own. We develop parks.....clean riverbeds.....establish community gardens. You name it we do it.

What benefits to society do conservatives provide without the prodding of gov't? Just askin'.

We do the same things. And we donate blood on a regular basis and give to charities....and we do it quietly and anonymously. Unlike liberals who announce it to everyone, so that they can get a pat on the back because they are such good citizens.

Let me repeat the numbers......310 million people in 50 states and over 2 million sq mile of land does not lead to small gov't. Sorry.

The "smallness" has to do with the responsibilities that the government takes on, not on pure numbers of people. The US Constitution defines the powers and responsibilities that we gave to the federal government. The liberals ignore this. If you don't want to live in a constitutional republic that defines a small government, you should move to Venezuela or Saudi Arabia or Turkey or China or England or someplace else that doesn't believe that individuals can take care of themselves. And all stick with the country that was founded on a philosophy that works well with 13 states and 2.5million people as well as 50 states and 310million people.
