Random notes: 1. California always tries. Arizona had a run. Nevada was up there with the chicken health care bimbo. But South Carolina maintains its firm hold on crazy and sleazy politicians and political idiocy. One goof from the 'Cock and suckers state doesn't want a woman of Sikh descent in the Governor's mansion because we already have "one raghead in The White House." Even if you believe the birther insanity, Obama as a Kenyan could not be a raghead, if you were enough of a bigot to use such a term. Then, the lady in question was accused by not one, but two political opponents of having affairs with them. One of the accusers looked like a less masculine version of Truman Capote. BTW, she leads her race by about 23%. <G> Mark Sanford is looking more normal all the time. For a South Carolinian, that is.

2. Elton John played at mega bigot Rush Limbaugh's fourth wedding. Why would an openly gay man who supports gay rights entertain the drug addict at his current run at family values? Perhaps he likes the idea of a fascist writing a big check to an Aids charity. Or, as Michael Musto said, perhaps it is because Elton John is a "great big whore." <G> I doubt that. Elton has to be one of the world's richest men.

3. After L.A. blew out Boston in the first game, there was "no contest." The Lakers are by far the best team. After losing the second game, the Lakers have no chance and Boston has by far the best team. Uh, anyone in the sports reporting biz follow a trend? These guys are like stock technicians. No science, but lots of opinions.

4. Jerry Brown vs. Meg Whitman? Man, that will be a great race. Genius vs. money. In most races, there is no way the public can win. In this one, I think there is no way the public can lose. Different approaches, but both candidates get the job done.
