The company has appointed Dr Michael Smith, as consulting geologist and has
retainedÿ theÿ servicesÿ ofÿ Lionÿ Miningÿ Financeÿ ofÿ London, England, as
technical manager of its mineral properties.ÿ AmCanÿ hasÿ beenÿ exclusively
involvedÿ inÿ diamondÿ explorationÿ andÿ developmentÿ in Sierra Leone, West
Africa and because of its experience has now been approached by a number of
majorÿ diamondÿ concessionÿ holders,ÿ inÿ other parts of Africa and will be
using the new technical team to analyze and grade these potential projects.
Dr Smith has an extensive background in natural resourceÿ development,ÿ and
economicÿ geologyÿ consultancyÿ withÿ emphasis on corporate work, including
listings, mergers and acquisitions. For over 20 years heÿ hasÿ beenÿ active
principallyÿ inÿ gold,ÿ gemÿ stones,ÿ oilÿ andÿ gas, and coal operations in
Zimbabwe, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Finland, Kazakastan,ÿ USA,ÿ Bolivia,ÿ Brazil
and the UK.
