>> BP Is Toast!

This article is total bullshit.

Relax. Its one man's opinion......albeit one who has a lot of experience with the oil industry.

The claims about Ixtoc are total bullshit. Nobody's worried about it -- almost nobody had HEARD of it until this came up. I posted references to Ixtoc on this thread as well as others early on and for the most part got only "Huh?" as a response.

Nobody worried about Ixtoc because the damage occurred in Mexico by the state owned oil company. Damage did occur....most of it has recovered. Some corral reef did not come back.

More importantly, we have yet to see any REAL, IMPORTANT damage done by the oil. The real damage is being done to BP's reputation, and I think it highly likely that in the end, people will realize their response was totally impressive in most respects.

Its very, very likely that there has been a significant loss of marine life esp. along the coast. Just off the Mobile, ALA coast are huge natural fisheries which are likely to get hit. Then there is the LA coast that's already been hit. By the time the air clears over all the lawsuits, there is not likely to be a BP any more.

BP will pay its fines and fees and costs and damages, and will continue right on making 20B/year.
