Hi all, I finally got back my copy of The Great Crash 1929
by John Kenneth Galbraith, and have been rereading it. What a
great writer, particularly when he is writing about something that
happened so long ago that he doesn't have the need to put a
political spin on it.

Regarding Monday panics, he writes:
In the ensuing weeks the Sabbath pause had a marked
tendency to breed uneasiness and doubts and pessimism and
a decision to get out on Monday. This it seems certain, was
what happened on Sunday, October 20.
