Alabama needs to step up its game, it seems.
and cept for the movies and mentioning Rhett -
well, mostly the More Southernisms part, that is true for 'southerners', be us white or black.
I drove my sister to the airport this day and we got to discussing southern language, and southern Alabama accents especially in the Black Belt with many rural majority black counties, and how the language and accent here came to be and so... yeppers, spot on. (tho we don't say 'spot on' here. i picked that up from a Brit friend.)
right now I am working out a road trip for myself through the black belt. it is our area needs the most attention re work, and as much or more re schools. it's largely rural, but you have B'ham close to the north, Montgomery is within it, and Mobile and shipping is right near. could get some things going. plus working with small farmers and setting up more small farmers and doing collective work to expand markets and make it a livelihood to work a small farm.
i carry on now. and, yes, I will send that off to a lot of people. and toast with a glass of sweet tea. |
