BP's existing partners in Prudhoe Bay are COP and XOM. Exxon keeps a low profile here, but my hunch is that COP might like to raise its stake and take over BP's role as the lead operator. Chevron is another possibility.

International players showing recent interest in Alaska include Shell, Eni, and Statoil. The Chinese might toss in a low-ball bid, but their best hunting grounds are the godforsaken places where Elmat hangs out.
