They are not going to fail but instead, get sliced and diced.

At the least their US division.

I think the whole company is on the line.

I'm not sure some of them shouldn't do time. People have gone to jail for doing a lot less harm.

IMO we're all culpable. For more than 30 years, we have maintained an energy policy that has encouraged riskier and riskier drilling. We have one group of Americans laughing at and even condemning another group of Americans because the former is trying to reduce its carbon footprint. We have politicians like the Kennedys calling for reduced fossil fuel consumption while flying around in private jets, looking like the hypocrites they are. This year was the first time Cafe Standards were raised in twenty. Of all the developed nations, we have the absolute worse train system. So few of our major cities have comprehensive mass transit. Seattle is a metro area of over 3 million people and just this year opened its first lite rail line. A similar sized metro area in Europe already would have several lite rail lines AND an entry level subway system.

And making matters worse, we have a third of the country dragging its feet any time changes to the status quo are attempted. No.....if BP goes to jail, we all deserve to go...at least that's what I believe.
