Dems use modern reason and facts and Republicans use antiquated culture and the bible. The age of enlightenment in the 17th century was the rebirth of an age of reason and liberals of the day rushed to it. The conservatives of the day fought it. The last civilzation to employ reason was the ancient Greeks 350 BC. The right wing talks according to a cultural script based on myth. They do not like science as it conflicts with their myths and cultural script. The reason 80% of scientists lean democratic and only 6% are Republican. Scientist are trained in how to gain facts and use logic and reason.
