Have you noticed how many stocks have recovered just to the levels of mid-2008, right before the liquidity event? It's almost as if the whole intervening two years was a hiccup, and all the efforts to save the system just blew 24 months and accumulated a ton of public debt. It's to the point that I'm tempted to speculate that stocks that were in downtrends in early 2008 are actually resuming their 2008 downtrends now, down to the same angle of attack.
