In August of '97, PC mags computer guru, John Dvorak wrote that Intel was in the "midst of an evil plot" with Rambus. In the October 21 issue of PC Magazine he wrote a much more favorable column about Rambus. I can not find it on the web, but the whole column is about Rambus (page 91), so its worth buying the mag. It's too much for me to re-type but heres a few sentences

"Furthermore, the licensing of RDRAM technology amounts to a royalty of no more than 2% of the sales. All the major memory makers have taken out licenses, and they will have to live with RDRAM manufacturing, like it or not. And just to keep beating myself up on this issue: It appears the RDRAM will actually lower total system cost substantially, and thus it's a good thing for users..."

"I've actually written a lot about Rambus over the years, as the company has developed nothing less than a phenomenal way to speed up data transfer. The peak bandwidth is extraordinary: 600MHz now, and gigahertz speeds are on the way"
