>>I dunno I'm 54 but I can relate..<<

I was already blasting the neighbor kids with my Jap squirt gun by the time you were born, so I have a bit more memory of the earlier contempt for Japan and its products. Then around '62 I got my first transistor radio, and what a marvel it was with all those nifty miniature components inside! Soon my buddies were buying Honda motorbikes, and the trickle of quality Japanese products gradually turned into a flood. For a while I thought we were doomed, but then the cycle turned and USA came roaring back with the PC/internet boom.

>>No, to me that was way beyond kissing babies.. almost obsequious like Uriah Heep in David Copperfield.. sycophantic.. it was managing someone with a huge inferiority complex from psyche 101...<<

Sure, it was dreadful but I've long since learned to tune that stuff out. Now we have the typical wave of young people becoming cynical about politics, as Obama's feet of clay become apparent. So... there's hope for the future.

If you think the USA has an inferiority complex, keep in mind that we invented this fabulous internet where ideas and criticism are freely exchanged. Now compare that to countries like China so afraid of criticism that they block Google/Youtube/Facebook, and ask yourself who has the inferiority complex? Oh yes, do you recall a former moderator of this thread who banned people for criticizing his home country? ;>)
