3M pads on an angle grinder, 600-1200 grit sandpaper and then a good polishing compound with an orbital polisher and lots of elbow grease. For my alumacraft I stuck with 3M and some sulphuric acid (aka aluminum brightener) to avoid the polishing step and try to get it wet before the summer is over.
