There are 600 deep wells in the GOM. A wonder it didn't happen before. But it didn't, not until O said drill, bay drill (in dangerous places) and the rigs were safe. Bad luck really...the main blame i give Obama is not opening ANWAR on land drilling and conversion to more NG. A few nuke plants in the desert might not be a bad idea either.
