Thanks for catching my mistake .. that makes my question even more valid .... if Bush was such a catastrophe, why did it take more than 8 years and a new President in office for things to go to hell? Things were going to hell well before Bush left. Katrina had happened. Economic growth was flaccid. The rich were getting richer at the expense of the poor. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were flagging badly. And the CDOs and other phony derivatives which had been invented during his second term were working their magic. It didn't take a genius to see the way things were going.......I was screaming my bloody head off for years.....but the Rs who were in control until 2006 kept a lid on things and the American media was in collusion with them. However, if you read the foreign press, you knew the truth. In all seriousness, things were run so badly for 8 years we are lucky to be where we are today as a bad a place as it is.
