There may be some things he could have done better in arranging clean-up and mitigation. I can't hold that against him. But if he lied about the magnitude!?!?! I wouldn't care too much, because I am reasonably sure that folks have been working 24/7 to plug the leak. But the American populace hates being the object of condescending lies. I still think that Richard Nixon would have tefloned his way out of his little box if he had come out day one and said, 'Bad things happened. I hired the wrong help. They got a little zealous. Its all my fault.'
