Greg: He is talking about the size of the stop - not the size of the position. For example if you bought 1000 shares of INTC @ 75 yesterday(poor you if you did) you would have set a stop loss order at
73 1/2 ( 2% of 75). The market would have kicked you out on the way down and you wouldn't be holding today when it closed @ 73 with the risk of further downside in the morning.
