Cumulative voting is used in most areas for some elected positions depending on the number of open seats.

An example is where the ballot instructs you vote for up to 6 of the 14 school Board candidates running for six open seats, or it could be only two open seats.

If you're a citizen and have previously voted in America, I'm certain you have already experienced cumulative voting.
