I don't have a TV either, but when I go out on business, I always
make sure my motel room has one. :) You are right about Quark
the owner of the bar in Star Trek, (Deep Space Nine?). The
Ferengi are not treated completely as avaricious greedy
capitalists. Occasionally they are the heroes, I think.

I always loved the Ferengi for their unabashed representation
of the greedy side of human nature. In fact, rule:

#284 Deep down, everyone's a Ferengi.

says it all. In fact, I find the newer versions of Star Trek to
be much of an improvement over the boring 60s show. Also
the Klingons are treated as that part of the human spirit that
treats honor as more important than life. In these days of
PC, to see the ancient human attributes of trading and
fighting given their due in a TV series is something that
I think is a good thing.
