Nope. The top 3 things we can do are as follows:
1) conservation: increasing MPG requirements
2) find substitutes like natural gas electric hybrids and full EVs
3) drill, baby, drill

If we did all 3 of those things, we'd be oil independent. Unfortunately, the only thing the GOP wants to do is # 3. They have fought like hell to roll back Obama increase in the mpg requirements. They have fought like hell to keep Big Oil subsidies and deny equivalent subsidies to substitutes that would lead to non-gasoline burning cars.

I'm an all of the above and any reasonable person should be too.
