Salad for most people is a pretty unhealthy selection.

Iceberg lettuce has zero nutritional value. You would get the same nutrition if you substituted ice cubes for iceberg lettuce. You might actually get more nutrition if the water making the ice has a little iron in it.

People load up on croutons, essentially fried bread, then the slather the concoction with "dressing", putting the nutritional equivalent of a quarter stick of butter on top of everything.

Why people don't just deep fry their "salads" and get it over with is beyond me.
