That's pretty freaking scary. It's consistent with how things happen, though. Most people expect a long grind, but what usually happens is things try hard to pretend that there is no problem and then when the cracks crumble, the flood waters burst in a sudden disastrous flow, catching everyone flat footed.

If they'd just let the free markets work, we might have already been on the tail end of working through the markets excesses. No chance of that now.
