What on earth?>> I suggest you buy T-Bills with the loose cash. Schwab will automatically sweep the rest into the MMF otherwise. They do have a treasuries only fund if that helps (if corporate or bank default is an issue). SIPC insurance is irrelevant, IMO. Assets at brokerages is in the trillions, and that would make the S&L debacle look like petty cash. Get long mattresses.-G-
