Dialup ISPs today are still overloaded and denial of service often. So the new estimate is broadband 30%(cabkleTV last mile customer count), dialup 70% of all computers except servers. People with older computers and older operating system stayed on dialup. Broadband turned out to be more expensive to keep up with newer equipment. Microsoft(MSN) autoupdate kept many alive on dialup.

AOL has assets to sell. Lives on advertizing. As cloud computing heats up with social networks that can do classified yard sales with Paypal transactions, AOL will be going strong.

Still getting a dividend check however small.

Dialup is going with $10/month ISP servers. MSN and AOL had not paid any attention to grab the unsatisfied by denial of service customers using $10 dialup service.

Maybe this is a wake up call for AOL and MSN?
