Re: "McChrystal apologized...." He ALSO apologized the other day to a platoon in Afghanistan who just lost a compatriot (killed by an IED) after they had requested --- and been denied --- permission by higher-ups to blast the house because they were sure it contained explosive devices, and yet McChrystal's "don't upset the neighbors" policy of treading lightly in Afghanistan resulted in them being denied permission to fire... and ordered instead to enter..... :-(
